Christian Centre Construction

“Sing, O barren one, who did not bear;
break forth into singing and cry aloud,
you who have not been in labor!
For the children of the desolate one will be more
than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.

“Enlarge the place of your tent,
and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
do not hold back; lengthen your cords
and strengthen your stakes.

Isaiah 54:1-2 (ESV)

Called To Build

We are assemblies of God Church in Nové Mesto Slovakia in Eastern Europe. God has promised us growth in Isaiah 54. He challenges us there to prepare room for increase. Therefore as a church we decided to accept this challenge.
During this journey we have received a lot of encouragement. The biggest one is written in 1 Chronicles 28. During the whole time of preparation and building we see God’s faithfulness to His promises.

“Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.“
1 Chronicles 28:20 (ESV)

CONSTRUCTION TESTIMONY

In the beginning we believed the promise of God's provision in various areas. God promised to take care of the plans and vision, material and finances, as well as the people of various crafts needed to build.

As a church we understand our role towards the town and society. That is why we perceive the new building as a tool to serve the church members as well as to all people in our surrounding. We are preparing room not only for Sunday services but also for meetings of various groups to be used daily. The vision is to build a Christian Center to support family life. There will be a meeting place for mothers in the church café. In other rooms there will be club activities for children and teenagers. In the evening there is room for supportive group meetings and counselling in various areas of life. Our intention is to communicate God's unconditional and selfless love to all people. The new building will be a place for new life.

VISION

We adopted a vision that exceeds us as a community in many ways. The Bible in Psalm 127 says:
„If the Lord does not build a house, those who build it labour in vain“.
Without knowing that God called us to do this, and without trusting that He would guide and secure us throughout the process, we would not start  this project. God confirmed His favor through the words of prophecy, but also by encouragement from people. After several years of decision-making and preparation, the construction started.

PROVISION

The beginning of the construction was preceded by a chain of God's favor and people's willingness to support our project. We started the construction with an estimated budget of 730,000 EUR (budget from 2017). We already had more than 90% covered before we started. The biggest contribution was a promised amount of EUR 430,000 from brother Oettli Foundation of Switzerland. The remainder of the coverage was mostly from our church savings and the commitment from church individuals.

To date, we have invested almost EUR 700,000 in construction. On our account we have money to pay the work in progress (approx. EUR 100,000). We already know that we will exceed our planned budget and we will need additional finances (estimated at EUR 300,000) to complete the construction of the Christian Center.

This increase in budget is caused by the increase in prices of materials and works in the construction industry in recent years, but also by the necessary changes in the project.

We therefore turn to you with trust and also request to help. We invite you to become part of the miracle God wants to do in our town, region and country. We believe that giving in the Kingdom of God is sowing that brings crops and we will also reap the measure by which we sow.
